Berlin is back as the german capital. This city has a colourful, ever changing, often tragic history and wins everybody with its diversity, cultural and historical highlights and restlessness. For sure, this city never gets boring! 2nd Edition of the HPC Berlin card.

The capital of Germany, Berlin is the political center since the unification of both German states. Great museums, theatres, big events and a very international flair make it the cultural capital, too.

The Brandenburg Gate, one of the landmarks - if not THE landmark of Berlin. And also a symbol of German unity. In January 2024, a stamp with the Brandenburg Gate on the theme of 'Berlin' appeared in the special stamp series "Zeitreise Deutschland". This 'Ticket to... Brandenburg Gate' postcard holds a special cancellation mark in memory of the Fall of the Wall 35 years ago. A little piece of history! A warm welcome to the 7th HPC DE version! This postcard is dedicated to a special event that is often associated with Germany - the Oktoberfest. Year after year it is a great spectacle when the first barrel is tapped in Munich. From roller coasters to gingerbread hearts and brass music, there is plenty to see and experience. The Berlin Bear is a beloved symbol of the capital city. Golden and Silver Bears are awarded at the annual Berlin International Film Festival, the Berlinale. A beautiful special stamp was issued to mark the 75th anniversary in 2025. Two first-day stamps were designed – one featuring the front of a bear and the other the back! We have designed maxi cards in both versions – here you can get the front part. Each card is unique, so there may be slight variations from the image.  Attention - small edition only! Visiting a berman bakery and trying a wide variety of different types of bread for sure is an experience not to be missed! This is a very obvious candidate for our German Keep Calm postcard series.

Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte - Black Forest Gateau. Yummy! There is chocolate, cream, cherries and a lot of other fine ingredients that make it a rich delicious treat and probably the most famous German cake. Try one if you can - or even better, bake your own one!

The variety of different types of beer in Germany is great. They much differ in taste and look. But can you tell the difference when blind tasting different types? Weizen and Pils might be one of the easier ones... Our No.14 in this postcard series - for many it should be the No.1 though!

The river Rhine spans over 500 km in Germany, passing different sceneries and big cities. To travel on it for a while is a lovely experience. This is card No.3 of the "Keep calm and discover Germany" postcard series.

If you happen to spend some time at the Baltic or North Sea coast in Germany, do not miss to rent a Strandkorb. It will protect you from wind, sun, a light rain and is just sooooo comfy! Did we mention the Strandkorb is a German invention?

For many, the dirndl stands for a typical traditional piece of cloth in Germany. It is becoming more and more popular again mainly in southern parts of Germany for big events and fairs. It holds No.15 in this postcard series.
