The 5th year of World Postcard Day - the fifth special Limited Edition postcard by papersisters to mark the occasion. 'The World needs more Postcards' is our motto this year - yes, we are firmly convinced that postcards connect people in a wonderful way across borders. They are little messengers of friendship and international understanding. And so we are very happy to be connected with many postcard enthusiasts around the world, especially on October 1st! Do you know why World Postcard Day is celebrated on October 1? On October 1, 1869, the first postcard made its way from Austria to Hungary - the beginning of a worldwide success story! Even today, in the 21st century, the postcard is still loved. Whether as a vacation or greetings card, to friends, relatives or strangers, sent within a country or around the world - the choice and variety is huge. On October 1, 2019, many people celebrated the 150th birthday of the postcard - following this tradition, Postcrossing proclaimed October 1 as World Postcard Day.
